This 2-day, 1-night journey enters the Simaxian Forest Road from Zhuolan, Miaoli, where you switch to shuttle vans suited to mountain roads and head to the Erbensong Visitor Information Station, the Maruta Battery Site and the Syuejian Recreation Area. Day one centers on the forests, culture and Holy Ridge views of Shei-Pa National Park, and in the evening you check in at the Tai’an hot spring area for a relaxing soak in the mountain hot springs.

Day two begins with the nearby Indigenous communities and Atayal culture, then visits Xishuikeng Tofu Street, the Taiwan Oil Field Exhibition Hall and the Miaoli Ceramics Agri-Creative Park. Through Indigenous heritage, Hakka food, industrial history and pottery, the journey offers a well-rounded introduction to Miaoli’s mountain culture and natural landscapes.

Syuejian Forest Walks

Visit the Syuejian Visitor Center and its woodland trails to experience mid-elevation broadleaf forest and the natural scenery of Shei-Pa National Park.

Views of the Holy Ridge

In clear weather, take in the sweeping, unbroken ridgeline around Snow Mountain (Xueshan) and Dabajian Mountain.

Erbensong Heritage Walk

Learn about local history and Atayal culture at the visitor station, the Maruta Battery Site and the Da'an River valley viewpoints.

The roads to the Syuejian Recreation Area are mountain roads; the shuttle vehicle type, transfer point and travel times will be confirmed before departure.
Mountain roads are winding, so those prone to motion sickness should bring their own medication; we recommend a warm jacket, rain gear, sun protection, insect repellent and drinking water.
Please wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. The Maruta Battery Site and woodland trails will be adjusted according to weather, road conditions, park notices and the group's fitness.
The Erbensong Visitor Information Station is generally closed on Mondays; on national holidays or if the managing authority makes changes, the latest notice applies.
Mountain accommodation is limited, so we recommend booking early for long weekends, school holidays and peak seasons; completing an order does not guarantee a room immediately.
A swimsuit and swim cap are required for the forest hot spring bath; opening hours and rules are subject to the accommodation provider's notices.
